Alfred Horne Obituary
Mr. Alfred W. Horne, age 92, of Cass City, passed away, Mon.,
April 17, 2017 at his home.
Alfred was born Nov. 13, 1924 in Port Huron, son of the late Alfred
S. and Myrtle (Harris) Horne. He married Mary Rock in Port Huron
on May 18, 1946. She past away Feb. 28, 2015. Alfred served in the
U. S Army Air Corps and eventually in the U. S. Air Force, serving
during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He also was part of the Strategic
Air Command working for RCA, he was a member of VFW Post #3644
and the Masons as a Shriner. He worked as a switch man for General
Cable and GTE retiring in 1987, enjoyed boating, fishing, relaxing on
the front porch, time with family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Alfred is survived by his children, Marie (Larry) Groombridge of Traverse
City, Randy (Marie) Horne, Donald (Robin) Horne, Allan (Jenny) Horne, Michael Horne and Robert (Penny) Horne, all of Cass City, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren, siblings, Marie (the late Norman) Emmons of Canada and Donald "Del" (the late Delores) Horne of Kimball.
He was predeceased by two sons, Frederick Horne and Curt Horne.
Visiting will be Thurs., April 20, 2017 from 2 until 8 PM and Fri., April 21,
2017 from 10 until an 11 AM service at Thabet Funeral Home, 6255 Main
St., Cass City. Pastor Brad Speirs officiating.
Burial will be in Novesta Township Cemetery.
