Alice Catherine Lovejoy (Coe) passed with peace and grace at Northwood Meadows, Cass City, where she resided for nine years, on Friday, March 20, 2015 at the age of 92.
Alice was born on April 8, 1922 in Silverwood, the daughter of the late Frank H. and Phyllis (Reitz) Coe. She married C. William Lovejoy in 1945, he preceded her in death December 8, 2004.
Alice attended Purdue University. She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church, Cass City. Alice served for many years on the Bach Festival Committee. She also enjoyed being a "Picture Lady", teaching art to Cass City students. She loved playing bridge and played weekly with special friends for many years. Alice loved reading and doing crossword puzzles. She was also an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching her beloved Wolverines and Tigers.
Survivors include her son, David (Rita) Lovejoy of Traverse City, son-in-law, Randy Piebenga of Lansing, grandchildren, Amy (Randy) Schuette of Cass City, Sarah Lovejoy of Cass City, Jennifer Lovejoy of Albuquerque, NM and Richard Lovejoy of RI, great-grandchildren, Erin, Emily, Olivia, Allison and Alex, sister-in-law Edna Coe of Fort Wayne, IN and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Kay Lovejoy and brothers, Frank and Chuck Coe.
A private family service will be held in the future. Memorials may be given to the First Presbyterian Church, Cass City.
