Mr. Allen V. McDonald, age 84, of Cass City, MI passed away on November 10, 2010 at his home.
Al was born on December 30, 1925 in Gagetown to the late Richard and Anita (Dore) McDonald. He married Marilyn Day on June 30, 1951. Mac was employed by Bulen Motors and Ouvry Chevrolet for 37 years, retiring in 1987. He loved traveling the U. S. and spending winters in Yuma, AZ, golfing and climbing the foothills. Mac was a first-class mechanic and could repair anything with a motor and loved to keep his vehicles in pristine condition and running top-notch. He joined the U. S. Army in 1947 and he spent a year and a half in Korea and six months in Japan and loved to tell stories about his time overseas and when he was in the Military Police.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Marilyn, two daughters, JoEllen McDonald of Roscommon, MI and Arizona and Sue (Mark) Collins of Saginaw, MI, four grandchildren, Ranessa (Rick) Dynes of Alabama, Justin Eliot of California, Kate Collins of Saginaw and Kris Collins of Texas, five grandchildren, a brother Roy of Florida, a sister Eleanor (Robert) Ethier of Georgia and many nieces, nephews and friends. Al was predeceased by three brothers, Leonard, Jack and Bud.
According to Allen's wishes, cremation has taken place. A private memorial service will take place at a later date.
