Mrs. Alma Louise Hartwick, age 84, of Cass City, passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2005 at the home of her daughter Connie Brink.
Alma was born June 15, 1921 in Greenleaf Twp., MI, daughter of the late Robert and Mary (Britton) Spencer. On July 28, 1941 she married Kermit Hartwick, he passed away May 23, 2000. Alma was a lifetime member of the O.E.S. #33 Caro , was a Brownie Troop leader, Elder and Sunday school teacher at First Presbyterian Church.
Alma is survived by her daughters, Connie (the late Douglas) Brink of Cass City and Kimberly (Tom) Smentek of SC, grandchildren, Shelly (Steve) Pringle of Caro, Laura and Brett Smentek of SC, and a great grandson, Logan, a brother, Alan (the late Margaret) Spencer of WI, sister, Janet (John) Pierangelino of Plymouth, MI. She was predeceased by siblings, Lynn, Mike, Lou, Gene, Dolores Wasson and Marjorie Underwood.
Funeral service Saturday, August 27, at 11 AM at First Presbyterian Church, 6505 Church St., Cass City with Pastor David Blackburn officiating. Visiting is Friday, August 26 from 2-5 and 7-9 PM at Thabet Funeral Home, 6255 Main St., Cass City and Saturday, August 27 from 10 - 11 AM at the church. Burial is in Elkland Twp. Cemetery, Elkland Twp. Memorials to Heartland Hospice, Lung or Cancer Research, or First Presbyterian Memorial Fund.
