Alvin E. McKee

Mr. Alvin E. McKee, age 76, of Cass City, passed away, Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Hill and Dales General Hospital, Cass City.

Al was born July 22, 1938 in Decker, the son of the late Eugene and Lila (Chapman) McKee. He married Carol Varney on October 15, 1960 in Cass City. She passed away on August 11, 2011.

Al worked for Marlette Homes for many years, then at Hills and Dales General Hospital in maintenance and housekeeping until his retirement, then he did odd jobs for anyone that needed work done. He was an avid baseball fan, especially for the Tigers, and enjoyed fishing and gardening and most of all, time with his grandchildren.

Al is survived by two daughters, Tamara Whittaker of Gagetown and Darla (Randy) Jackson of NC, seven grandchildren, Andrew, Tyler, Bradley, Sarah, Joshua, Jordan and Jessica, two great grandchildren, Kaden and Lilith and two step-great grandchildren, Angelina and Serena, two brothers, Elmer (the late Elva) McKee of Imlay City, George (Betty) McKee of Lapeer and a sister, Ruth Ann (Barry) McCafferty of Otter Lake. In addition to Carol, and his parents, he was predeceased by siblings, Herbert, Frank, John, Grant, Lucille and infant Evelyn.

Visiting will be Monday, June 1, 2015 from 4 until 7 PM, Tuesday, June 2, 2015 from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 PM and Wednesday, June 3, 2015 from 12 noon until a 1 PM service at Cass City Missionary Church, 4449 Koepfgen Rd., Cass City. Pastor Phil Burkett officiating. Burial will be in Elkland Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Cass City Missionary Church.
