Mrs. Arvilla Jane Smith, age 67, of Cass City, passed away Monday, May 18, 2009 at Tendercare of Cass City.
Jane was born September 2, 1941 in Attica, the daughter of the late Clare and Wanda (Leach) Myers. Jane married Donald Smith, July 3, 1960 in Columbiaville. She was a homemaker and loved baking, cleaning, garage sales and going to Soaring Eagle Casino. She enjoyed spending time at Sage Lake, at the Second Island cabin and enjoyed animals and pets, but mostly loved time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, she was like a mother to everyone.
Jane is survived by her loving husband of almost 49 years, Donald, a son, Donald Smith, Jr. and a daughter, Rhonda Smith, foster children, Joe (Patty) Yax and Ed Yax, all of Cass City, 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, a brother, Floyd (Ruth) Myers and a sister, Nancy Coyne, both of Fostoria. She was recently predeceased by her son, Matthew Smith, on February 12, 2009.
Visiting will be Wednesday, May 20, from 3 until 8 PM and Thursday May 21, from 10 until an 11 AM service at Thabet Funeral Home, 6255 Main St., Cass City. Pastor Chuck Carr of Calvary Bible Fellowship officiating. Burial will be in Elkland Township Cemetery.
