Mrs. Carol McKee, age 69, of Cass City, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2011, at Hills and Dales General Hospital, Cass City.
She was born February 13, 1942 in Port Hope, the daughter of the late Clifford and Anna (Rees) Varney. Carol married Alvin McKee on October 5, 1960 in Cass City. She worked as a Pharmacy Tech at Coach Light Pharmacy, and had worked as an Operator for GTE, Carol was a very active member of Cass City Missionary Church, volunteering at Revive and baking cakes for several birthday Sundays. She also enjoyed reading and making peanut brittle for friends and family.
Carol is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Alvin, daughters, Tamara Whittaker of Gagetown and Darla (Randy) Jackson of NC, 7 grandchildren, Andrew, Tyler, Bradley, Sarah, Joshua, Jordan and Jessica, a great grandson, Kaden and 2 step great grand daughters, Angelina and Selena, and siblings, Bill (Jan) Varney of Frankenmuth, Doug Varney of Pontiac, Doris (Max) McKenzie of Elkton and Catherine (Merle) Sorenson of Hessel.
Visiting will be Monday, August 15, from 4 until 8 PM and Tuesday, August 16, from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 PM and on Wednesday, August 17, from 10 AM until an 11 AM service at Cass City Missionary Church, 4449 Koepfgen Rd., Cass City. Pastor Phil Burkett officiating. Burial will be in Elkland Township Cemetery.
