Mr. Charles P. Nizzola, age 85, of Deford, passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2009 at his residence.
Charles was born Feb. 29, 1924 in Saginaw, the son of the late Edward and Ines (Monezoni) Nizzola. On August 3, 1946 he married Frances Cieslinski in Merrill, she passed away June 15, 2004. He served in the US Army Air Corps during WW II, he was a lifelong hobby farmer, worked as a union carpenter, and was multi talented, and also was a life member of Cass City VFW Post 3644.
Charles is survived by his children, Eustace Nizzola of Cass City, Alex Nizzola of Gagetown, Edward "Rocky" (Sandy) Nizzola of Cass City, Thomas Nizzola of Deford, Carl (Kathleen) Nizzola of Cass City and Betty (Larry) Nizzola-Ware of Leroy, 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and a sister, Judy Nizzola of Gaylord.
Visiting is Monday, June 1, from 5 until 9 PM and Tuesday, June 2, from 10 AM until 9 PM at the Thabet Funeral Home, 6255 Main St., Cass City. And on Wednesday June 3 from 10 AM until an 11 AM service at Novesta Church of Christ, 2896 Cemetery, Cass City. Brad Gniewek will officiate. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Wilmot. Honor service by members of the US Air Force and the Cass City VFW Post 3644.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, the National Kidney Foundation, Heartland Hospice or the Cass City VFW Post 3644.
