Mrs. Colleen P. Hawley, age 82, of Cass City, passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at Bay Regional Medical Center, Bay City.
Colleen was born February 18, 1924 in Reese, the daughter of the late Ambrose and Laura (Dorance) Thorp. On February 1, 1945 she married Leonard Hawley in Ellington Township, he passed away, Monday, October 30, 2006. Colleen worked as a housekeeper at Hills & Dales Hospital retiring in 1985, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting and camping, and was a loving wife and mother for over 61 years.
Colleen is survived by her children, George (Lois) Hawley of Minden City, James (Kim) Hawley of AZ, Diane Smith of Baldwin, Sandra (Wil) Craig of Cass City and Ronald (Pam) Hawley of Cass City, 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, siblings, Ward (the late Veta) Thorp of TX, Paul (Arlene) Thorp of Sanford, Fred (the late Jenny) Thorp of Owendale, Vera (the late Don) Markhart of Reese and Harriet (Jerry) Creason of TN. She was predeceased by a son, Mark and brothers, Jack and Robert.
Visiting is Saturday, November 11, from 3 until 9 PM at Thabet Funeral Home, 6255 Main St., Cass City with a funeral service at 1:30 PM on Sunday, November 12, with Pastor Judy Esckilsen officiating. Burial will be in Ellington Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Kidney Foundation or to Thumb Area Dialysis.
