Connie M. Brink, age 77, formerly of Cass City, passed away peacefully at her Maryland home on September 12, 2020 after a lengthy illness.
She was born July 14, 1943 to the late Kermit and Alma (Spencer) Hartwick of Cass City, MI. Connie moved to Maryland to live with her daughter and family in early 2015. Connie was a graduate of Cass City high school, after which she moved to Indiana to pursue a Dental Nurse degree. Upon completion of the program, she applied and was accepted to the American Airlines School in Texas, where she studied and worked to become an Airline Stewardess. During her time with the airline, her home airport was O’Hare International, in Chicago. She met her husband, Douglas Brink, while in Chicago. They were married in 1965, and moved to Michigan shortly thereafter, eventually settling in Caro. Connie helped her husband open and operate the Clark Gas Station. She then served as the hostess and co-manager of the Cock and Bull restaurant, which she and Doug owned. She was also a homemaker and mother. She and Doug built a home and moved to Cass City in the mid 1990’s. She continued to live there after Doug passed away on May 21, 2004, before she moved to Maryland, she volunteered with the Foster Grandparent Program, serving as a resource to help in the classroom at Cass City Public Schools. She was also a member of the Cass City First Presbyterian Church. Once in Maryland, Connie was immensely happy to support her grandson, Logan, in his bicycling pursuits, often travelling with the family to his events. She enjoyed exercise walks, shopping and eating out with her daughter and family, and the company of the family dog.
