Donald Hartel Obituary

Mr. Donald L. Hartel, age 82, of Ubly, passed away Sun., March 25, 2012, at his home after a long illness.

He was born Feb. 10, 1930 in Argyle Township, the son of the late Lorn and Helen (McIntosh) Hartel. He married Wanalee Morell on June 6, 1953 in Cumber, MI. Donald served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War, he was a journeyman tree trimmer retiring in 1990 with Heath Tree Service, contracted to Detroit Edison. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and gardening.

He is survived by his wife Wanalee, children, Scott (Amy) Hartel of Cass City, Dyanna (Jay) Bismack of Minden City, Connie (Rick) Hollis of Cass City and Beth Vincent of Bad Axe, 8 grandchildren, two sisters, Bonna (Ike) Stern of Sand Lake Heights and Wanda (Russell) Hicks of Memphis. He was predeceased by a brother, Jack Hartel.

Visiting will be Tues., March 27, 2012 from 6 until 9 PM and on Wed., March 28, 2012 from 10 until an 11 AM service at Thabet Funeral Home, 6255 Main St., Cass City. Pastor Dale Bullock of Mizpah Church officiating.

Burial will be at a later date in Elkland Township Cemetery, Cass City. Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice. Honor service will be by members of Cass City VFW 3644 and members of the U S Army.
