Dorothy Taylor Obituary

Mrs. Dorothy Jean Taylor, age 92, of Deford, passed away, Mon., March 12, 2018 at her home. She was born in Cass City, March 9, 1926, daughter of the late Arthur and Phoebe (Fisher) Klinkman. She married Maurice F. Taylor on Sept. 12, 1942 in South Carolina. Maurice passed away in 2002. Dorothy worked many years at Parsch’s clothing store in Cass City, was a former member of the Business and Professional Women’s Association, worked as a dietitian at Cass City Hospital, was a charter member of the Deford Community Church and held meetings in their basement to discuss plans for the building of the church. She served on the kitchen committee for many years, provided many meals for many people in need, also served as president and treasurer of the Women’s Missionary Society. Dorothy enjoyed feeding and watching birds, the Detroit Tigers, traveling and spending time with family at their cabin. She loved her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dorothy is survived by her children, John (Jeanne) Shagena of Kingston, Lynn (Bernard) Babich of Deford and Pastor Lee (Kathy) Taylor of Whitmore Lake, son-in-law, Harvey Linderman of Cass City, daughter-in-law, Suzanne Humpert of Essexville, 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild, due in April and a brother, Kenneth (Jean) Klinkman of Deford. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Larry Shagena, a daughter, Linda Sue (Taylor) Linderman, grandson, Ted Lee Linderman and great grandchildren, Riches and Treasure Thomas. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held Fri., March 16, 2018 at 11 AM at Deford Community Church, 1392 Kingston Rd., Deford. Family and friends may start gathering at 10 AM. Memorials may be made to Deford Community Church for Missionary Support.
