Douglas Clifton Obituary

Mr. Douglas Alan Clifton, age 60, of Fairgrove, and was raised in Ortonville, passed away unexpectedly, Monday, June 1, 2020 at his home.

He was born September 17, 1959, in Pontiac, the son of the late Thomas and Ona (Warren) Clifton. Doug married the former Glenda Helias on August 9, 1980. Doug’s career was working for concrete companies, first with TruBuilt, a family owned business and several other companies, ending with R and R in Cass City. He was an avid hunter, it was really his favorite thing to do. He was always picking up supplies for feeding the deer and setting up his blind, and always had a story to tell about his latest buck.

Doug is survived by his loving wife, Glenda of Fairgrove, brothers, Keith (Mary) Clifton of Davision, Thomas (Renee) Clifton of Dewitt and Rodney ( Teresa) Clifton of WI, He was a brother-in-law to Jean Helias of Holly, Paule Marie (Ted) Kulze of WY, Michelle Bissett of Oxford, Yvonne (David – his best friend) Zartman of Cass City and Joel (Shannon) Helias of LA and affectionately, uncle Doug to all his nieces and nephews. There are many great memories and stories of uncle Doug and Aunt Glenda and all the love and time spent with their nieces and nephews, they were like second parents to all of them. Doug loved his dogs Lucky, Grizzly and Sheba, and the barn cats that he named and spent time playing with, they all brought him joy. Doug will be greatly missed by all his loved ones. In addition to his parents, Doug was predeceased by two brothers, Bruce Clifton and Mark Clifton.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place at a later date. Please check back to this website as more information becomes available.
