Edward Duane Callebert

Mr. Edward "Big Ed"  Callebert, age 70, of Snover, formerly of St. Clair Shores, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Select Specialty Hospital, Saginaw after along illness.

Big Ed was born August 1, 1950 in Detroit, the son of the late Edward and Margaret (Dezitter) Callebert. He was a 1968 graduate of Lakeview Public High School, Ed's passion in life was family, flea markets, and playing cards - especially Euchre. After retiring from the assembly line at Chrysler in 1982, Ed and his business partner, "Curby" sold merchandise at various flea markets throughout the state of Michigan. During the 1st annual Port Hope Antique Engine Show, Ed met his future wife, Janet Hoyt. After a 35 year friendship, Ed and Janet were married at Medilodge of Cass City on April 27, 2017.

Ed is survived by his loving wife, Janet, five stepchildren, James (Alexandra) Hoyt of Saginaw, Elizabeth (Michael) Denoyer of Armada, Jessup (Ashley) Hoyt of Freeland, Jeremiah Hoyt and Errianne Hoyt, both of Midland. five grandchildren, as well as many cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, Ed was predeceased by his sister, Donna Callebert. 

Visitation will be Monday, August 2, 2021, the family will receive friends, from 2 until 7 PM at the Thabet Funeral Home, 6255 Main St., Cass City. The funeral service will be Tuesday, August 3, 2021 with visitation beginning at 1 PM and a celebration of life service will begin at 3 PM.  Pastor Gary Wesch of the Marysville Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints will officiate. Ed will be laid to rest next to his father, mother and sister at Resurrection Cemetery, 18201 Clinton River Rd., Clinton  Township on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at 1 PM.
