Ellen F. Toner

Mrs. Ellen F. Toner, age 66, of Cass City, passed away, Thursday, August 24, 2006 at her home.

Ellen was born February 27, 1940 in Cass City, MI, the daughter of the late Charles and Virginia (Blondell) Gurdon. On May 14, 1960 she married Daniel Toner in Cass City. Ellen graduated with a Master's degree from Saginaw Valley State University, she taught at all three of the area school districts, she also taught at Davenport university in Bad Axe and Baker College in Cass City. She was a member of the American Association of University Women and of the Cass City United Methodist Church, she enjoyed traveling, reading and history.

Ellen is survived by her husband, Daniel, a son, Todd Toner of Cass City and a daughter, Danielle (Larry) Smith of Lapeer, a granddaughter, Bianca Smith, a brother, Robert (Jeri) Gurdon of Romeo and a sister, Marie (Ken) Walton of Nevada.

Honoring Ellen's wishes cremation has taken place. Memorials may be made to Cass City United Methodist Church or to Rawson Memorial Library.
