Mr. Fred John Strong, age 87, of Ubly, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2018
at Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center, Saginaw.
He was born June 8, 1931, in Gagetown, the son of the late Roy and Winifred
(Woolman) Strong. Fred was a 1950 graduate of Cass City High School. Fred
served in the U S Army during the Korean War. He worked as a truck driver
in both the dairy industry and as a long haul driver. He enjoyed motorcycles
and the Northern Michigan Dragway and he also enjoyed doing small electrical
repairs and loved his cat, Susie.
He is survived by his children, Carol (Earl Hallitt) Strong of GA, John Strong of
Ubly and Mark (Alice Schwartz) Strong of Ubly, a grandson, Michael Strong of
Bad Axe, a sister, Norma (the late Ted) Pochopin of AZ and special friend, Arlen
Bannick of Bad Axe. In addition to his parents and brother-in-law, he was
predeceased by a sister, Marion Quinn and her husband, Mike.
Cremation has taken place and a comittal service will be held Wednesday, September 19,
2018 at 10:00 AM at Elkland Township Cemetery, Cass City. Pastor Dale Bullock will
officiate, followed by military honors by members of the U S Army and the Cass City VFW
Post 3644.
