Gordon Holcomb Obituary
Mr. Gordon B. Holcomb, age 90, of Deford, passed away Sun., Oct. 14, 2012, at St. Mary's of Michigan, Saginaw.
He was born March 19, 1922 in Wilmot, the son of the late William and Catherine (Gillies) Holcomb. On Feb. 24, 1945 he married Mary Tyler in Detroit. She passed away Dec. 9, 2007. He worked for Detroit Auto Piston, Excello and Nash/Kelvinator for many years, and farmed for over 60 years. He was a long time, active member of the Novesta Church of Christ.
Gordon is survived by his children, Sandra Miller of Oxford, Franklin Holcomb and Patricia (Alan) Peters, both of Deford, 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, brothers Herbert Holcomb of Farmington and Duane (Mary Jane) Holcomb of South Lyon, sister in laws, Marion Holcomb of Marion and Marge Holcomb of Livonia and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, William Holcomb and Merton Holcomb.
Visitation is Wed., Oct. 17, 2012 from 7 until 9 PM and Thurs., Oct. 18, 2012 from 2 until 5 and 7 until 9 PM at Thabet Funeral Home, 6255 Main St., Cass City. Instate Fri., Oct. 19 from 10 until an 11 AM service at Novesta Church of Christ, 2896 Cemetery Rd., Cass City. Brad Speirs officiating. Burial will be in Novesta Township Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
