Herbert Edward Yax

Mr. Herbert Edward Yax,, age 82, of Deford, passed away, Fri., Dec. 31, 2021 at Covenant Healthcare – Cooper, Saginaw.

He was born Nov. 11, 1939 to the late Herbert Eugene and Mable (Hickey) Yax in Cass City. On Nov. 16, 1957 he married Valirie Warford in Caro. He was a welder and semi frame straightener, working for Sawyer Sales and Service in Saginaw. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed dirt track racing, When he was younger, he enjoyed pheasant and rabbit hunting and fishing. Mostly he loved time with his grandchildren.

Herbert is survived by his loving wife of over 64 years, Valirie, his children, Edward (Rhonda) Yax of Deford, Donald (Sandra) Yax of Cass City, Marie (Chris) Struve, Michael (Paula) Yax, and Lenora Yax, all of Deford, Joseph Leroy Yax of TX and Valirie (Howard) Luana of Deford, 14 grandchildren, 22 great children and 4 great, great grandchildren, sisters, Betty Firman of FL, Irene Polley of IN and Sandra Giddings of CA. He was predeceased by two grandchildren, Jordan Yax and Samuel McLlean, a brother, Frank (the late Marjorie) Yax and a sister, Barbara (the late Bob) Warford.

Visitation is Wed., Jan. 5, 2022 from 11 AM until 1 PM at Deford Community Church, 1392 Kingston Rd., Deford. Funeral service at 1 PM with Pastor David Cooper officiating.

Burial will be in the spring in Novesta Township Cemetery.
