Ila Fern Babich

Mrs. Ila Fern Babich, age 85, of Deford, after a brief illness, passed away with her loving family by her side, Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at Covenant Healthcare, Saginaw.

Fern was born July 28, 1922 in the family home in Deerfield Township, MI the daughter of the late Walter and Mary (Templeton) Reynolds. Fern married Louis Babich on December 25, 1938 and lived on the family farm. Louis passed away December 17, 1980. She loved to cook, bake and can foods, she was known for her cards and letters of
encouragement, was a member of Deford Community Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years. Fern loved her family and the Lord.

Fern is survived by her children, Gene Babich of Caro, Bernard (Lynn) Babich of Deford and Ila Taylor of St. Petersburg, FL, grandchildren, Tim, Lynnae, Marc, Kristi, Beth and Michelle, 11 great grandchildren, siblings, Shirley (the late Harold) North of Pinconning, Rev. Walter (the late Grace) Reynolds of Burton, Rev. Dale (Ann) Reynolds of Roanoke, VA and Rev. Lyle (Darlene) Reynolds of Kimball and many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 6 sisters.

Visiting is Saturday, August 18, from 2 until 9 PM and Sunday, August 19 from 1 until a 2 PM service at Deford Community Church, 1392 N. Kingston Rd., Deford, Pastor David Cooper officiating. Pallbearers for Fern will be, Marc Babich, Jim Thomas, Matt Reynolds, Tim Babich, Brett Babich and Austin Babich. Burial will be in Novesta Twp. Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Deford Community Church Renovation Project.
