Mr. Irvin William Kitchin, age 83, of Decker, passed away Sat., Feb. 10, 2024, at McLaren Thumb Region Hospital, Bad Axe.
He was born March 9, 1940, in Cass City, son of the late William and Esther (Snyder) Kitchin. Irv served in the US Army during the Vietnam Era. He married the former, Ruth Ann Spencer, March 24, 1990, in Decker. He worked as a truck driver for Saginaw Asphalt, retiring after 36 years. Since retirement, he enjoyed doing projects in his garage. He also enjoyed coffee with his friends at McDonalds and painting and restoring items and loved riding his motorcycle.
Irv is survived by his loving wife, Ruth Ann, children, Patrick Horner of Onaway and Misty (Dave) Homer of Gladstone, grandchildren, Elise, Aiden and Zachariah and great grandchildren, Cameron, Valerie and Brystol. He was predeceased by a daughter, Cheryl Canion and siblings, Roy Kitchin, Ruth Usery and Phyllis Spencer.
Honoring Irvin’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be at 11 AM, Sat., Nov. 16 , 2024 at Mizpah Missionary Church, 4631 Van Dyke Rd., Cass City. Dale Bullock officiating. Family and friends may start gathering at 10:30 AM.
Memorials, in honor of Irv, may be given to the American Cancer Society or Cass River Pet Friendz.
