Mr. Jack F. Doerr, age 88, of Cass City, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Fri., Aug. 17, 2012, at Tendercare-Cass City.
Jack was born Jan. 7, 1924 in Argyle, the son of the late Frederick Lee and Clara (Krause) Doerr. He married Irene Guinther on Jan. 3, 1953 at St. Pancratius Catholic Church, Cass City. Jack served in the U S Army from Jan. 28, 1949 to 1951 and went back on Oct. 21, 1951, leaving from Ft. Lewis, WA to serve in Korea until 1952. Jack worked for Champion Outdoor Advertising Co. for 28 years and retired in 1973 after working in shipping and receiving from Walbro, Cass City. He was a lifetime member of the Cass City VFW and enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and time with his family.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Irene, sons, James (Brenda) Doerr of Caro and Michael Doerr of Bay Port, 4 granddaughters, Jessica Doerr of Sebewaing, Sadie Garza of Caro, Jasmine Doerr of Bay Port and Jacquelyne Doerr of Sebewaing, and a great grandson, Bayze Doerr of Sebewaing. He was predeceased by a grandson, Levi Doerr in 2004, a brother, Cletus Doerr in 2000 and a sister, Judith Doerr in 1925.
Visiting is Sun., Aug., 19 from 1 until 8 PM with a 7 PM Rosary at Thabet Funeral Home, Cass City and on Mon., Aug. 20 from 10 until an 11 AM funeral mass at St. Pancratius Catholic Church, 4292 Seeger St., Cass City. Fr. Paul Bala and Sr. Maria Dina Paddu officiating. Burial will be in Elkland Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Family Discretionary Fund.
