Mr. James P. Martin, II, age 71, of Caro, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at Covenant Health Care - Cooper, Saginaw.
Jim was born March 21, 1937 in Brooklyn, NY. On October 11, 1958 he married Ruth Curry in Kingston. He served in the U S Navy during the Korean War. Jim was as an electrician for Marlette Homes and Walbro, and also owned his own electrical business, J.P.M. Electric. Jim was an active member of Deford Community Church, serving as a Deacon, treasurer, Sunday School Teacher and board member, he enjoyed hunting, photography and golf.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Ruth, sons, Stephen of AZ, Christopher (Michelle) of Port Huron, grandchildren, Melissa (Tim) McFarland, Nathaniel (Samantha) Martin, Kevin Martin, Amanda Martin, Carl Martin, Marzette Martin and Julienne Martin, a great grandson, James McFarland, a brother, Robert (Betty) Martin of NC. He was predeceased by a son, Scott Martin.
Visiting is Sunday, July 27, at Deford Community Church, 1392 Kingston Rd., Deford from 2 - 7 PM, Monday, July 28, from 2 - 5 and 7 - 9 PM, and Tuesday, July 29, from 1 PM until a 2 PM service at the church. Pastor David Cooper officiating. Burial will be in Novesta Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Deford Community Church. Honor service by the U S Navy.
