Mrs. Janice L. Mika, age 81, of Decker passed away on Sat., Feb. 17, 2024 at her home.
Janice was born July 8, 1942 in Flint, the daughter of the late Voyle and Marion (Groombridge) Dorman. On May 12, 1979 she married John Mika in decker. She worked as a pre-school teacher for NEMSCA Head Start and was a homemaker as well. She enjoyed sewing and loved music, she sang gospel music with her sisters, The Dorman Sisters. Most of all she loved time with family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Janice is survived by her loving husband, John, her children, Lorn (Diane) McIntosh of Decker, Rhonda (Mike) Truemner of TX, Paula (Jeff) Papp of AR, Greg Mika of Cass City, Colleen (Bill) Sontag of NC and Kevin (Jennifer) Mika of Freeland, 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren, sisters, Yvonne (the late Chuck) Roe of Deckerville and Karen (Bob) Sawdon of MO. She was predeceased by her brothers, Harley Dorman and Bill Dorman.
Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life is planned for Saturday, July 6, 2024 at Community of Christ Church, 2081 Deckerville Rd., Caro. A short prayer and blessing will take place at 1 PM and the celebration of life will continue until 4 PM.
Memorials in memory of Janice may be given to A and D Hospice.
