Mr. John "Jack" Kilbourn, age 88, of Midland, MI, formerly of Cass City, MI, passed away Wed., May 9, 2012, at his daughter, Karen's home in Wixom Lake, MI.
He was born March 11, 1924 in Minden City, MI the son of the late LeRoy and Mary (Brodbeck) Kilbourn. He married Verna Heronemus on May 18, 1946 in Decker, MI. Jack started his work career with C. R. Hunt and Shaw Construction companies, he became a fuel delivery truck driver for Cass City Oil and Gas. He then started his favorite career as a Field Man/ Milk Inspector for MMPA, until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Verna, his daughter, Karen (Leonard) Smolarkiewicz of Wixom Lake, special grand daughter, Suzanne (William)Potts of Sanford, MI, grandson, Michael O'Toole of St. Charles, MI, great grand daughters, Mackenna and Riley Thompson and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Arlene O'Toole and son-in-law Tom, infant twin sons, Kevin and Kenneth, grand daughter, Lisa (O'Toole) Thompson and a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Lou and Frank Altizer.
Visiting is Fri., May 11, 2012 from 11 AM until a 2 PM service at Thabet Funeral Home, 6255 Main St., Cass City. Burial will be in Novesta Township Cemetery.
