Juanita Lopez Obituary
Juanita “Joan” Y. Lopez, age 70, of Gagetown, passed away Sun., Nov. 25, 2018 at
Select Specialty Hospital, Flint.
Joan was born in Gagetown on Jan. 27, 1948 to the late Regino and Domitila (Benitez)
Lopez. She worked as a laborer for General Cable in Cass City, Nortech in Bad Axe and
Automotive Industries in Owendale for many years, retiring in 1988. Joan enjoyed
gardening, fishing, going to the casino and loved family gatherings.
She is survived by her brothers and sisters, Margarita (the late Clarence) Menzel of
Sebewaing, Benjamin Lopez of KY, Alejandro (Anita) Lopez of Lapeer and Petra (Robert)
Chisholm of Caro, many loving nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and
special friend, Mike Tomich of Imlay City. She was predeceased by two brothers, Regino
Lopez, Jr. and Pablo Lopez.
Visiting is Thurs., Nov. 29, 2018 at Thabet Funeral Home, Cass City, from 2 until 8 PM,
with a 7:30 PM Rosary. Instate Fri., Nov. 30, 2018 at St. Agatha Church, Our Lady Consolata
Parish, 4018 South, Gagetown, from 9 AM until a 10 AM funeral mass. Fr. Adam Maher as
celebrant. Burial in St. Agatha Cemetery will take place Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 11:30 AM.
Memorials may be made to St. Agatha Food Pantry or Pulmonary Hypertension Association.
