Mrs. Judith L. Carpenter, age 72, of Cass City, passed away Sun., May 26, 2013, at her home surrounded by her family after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.
She was born Aug. 25, 1940 in Pontiac, the daughter of the late Leland and Phyllis (Parsons) Hile. On Dec. 13, 1975 she married Robert Carpenter in Caro. She worked as a nurses aide at Hills and Dales Hospital, at Erla's Market, and at the library at the University of Texas, Permian basin, as a research assistant. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, cooking and loved time with family, especially her grandchildren, she was a special lady and will be sorely missed.
Judith is survived by her husband, Robert, children, Dawne (Dan) Worden of North Branch, Deborah Palmer of Harbor Beach, Rob Carpenter and Steven Palmer, both of Cass City, 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, brother, David (Sue) Walsh of Fenton and sister, Sandy (Alex) Brock of TX. She was predeceased by 2 sisters, Sharon Hile and Mary Kimbell and a brother, Dennis Hile. Visitation is Tues. May 28, from 5 - 9 PM, Wed., May 29, from 12 - 5 and 7 - 9 PM at Thabet Funeral Home, 6255 Main St., Cass City. Instate Thurs., May 30 from 10 until an 11 AM service at Cass City Missionary Church, 4449 Koepfgen Rd., Cass City. Pastor Phil Burkett officiating. Burial will be in Elkland Township Cemetery.
