Klaus Rittig Obituary

Mr. Klaus W. Rittig, age 72, of Deford, passed away, Fri., Jan. 17, 2014 after a long battle with cancer, at Hills and Dales General Hospital, Cass City.

He was born May 13, 1941 in Germany, son of the late Herbert and Elsa (Wolford) Rittig. On Sept. 18, 1998 he married Betty Kulling in Sandusky. He worked for 20 years for Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater, FL as a maintenance manager, then for Pro-Built in Caro as a driver. He was meticulous about working in his yard, loved tooling around Deford in his golf cart, and was very proud when he became a U. S. citizen.

Klaus is survived by his wife, Betty, siblings, Erika (the late Armin) Mayerhauser, Dieter Rittig and Brigitte (the late Dieter) Kramer, all of Germany and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Michael Rittig and a brother, Hans Rittig.

Honoring his wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Sat., Jan. 25, 2014 at 12:30 PM at Thabet Funeral Home, 6255 Main St., Cass City. Pastor Len Wyatt of Kingston Wesleyan Church officiating. Memorial visitation will begin at 12 Noon.
