Laura LaJoie, age 69, of Cass City, passed away from a courageous battle with health issues on Sat., Jan. 8, 2022 at McLaren Bay Region, Bay City.
She was strong in her faith. She often told her grandson that she would be celebrating with the Lord in heaven – in her mansion with golden roads. Laura was born Feb. 25, 1952 in Garden City, the daughter of the late August and Dorothy (Noeske) LaJoie. On April 3, 2010 she married Dale Wilcox in Bad Axe. She worked as a Registered Nurse for over 30 years, most of this in Florida.
Laura was inspiring. She was creative and artistic, and found the most unique ways to make you feel special. She loved to sew, knit and decorate; and her home always made you feel warm, inviting, and welcome. She was beautiful, inside and out, and had the best sense of humor. Every gathering with family and friends brought belly laughs, tears from laughter, and her quick-witted banter. Laura was kind and had such a warm heart. She loved to cook and bake and share it all with her family. She had an amazing sense of adventure, wonder, and curiosity of the world. Laura made every day fun, enjoying even the simplest things in life. But most importantly, she was cherished and loved by her family. To put it simply, she was the best – the best mother, grandmother, wife, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be missed.
Laura is survived by her husband, Dale, children, Erin (Justin) Gabrysh of CO, Emily Creason of Cass City, Ryan (Shara) Wilcox of Frankenmuth and Cory Wilcox of Bay City, grandchildren, Quincy, Julien, Eden, Ellie, Mollie, Addy, Maxx, Oliver, Connor, and Bennett, and a sister, Juliette (Howard Kelly) Patterson. She was predeceased by a brother, Henry (Etta) LaJoie, and sisters, Rita (the late William) Zimba and Martha Wilcox.
Honoring Laura’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
