Leonard Carl Hawley

Mr. Leonard Carl Hawley, age 85, of Cass City, MI passed away suddenly on Monday, October 30, 2006 at Hurley Medical Center, Flint, MI.

Leonard was born September 13, 1921 in Wilmot, MI the son of the late Merritt and Sarah (Hutchinson) Hawley. On February 1, 1945 he married Colleen Thorp in Ellington Township, MI. Leonard was a life long farmer, raising beef cattle, he worked for Michigan Bean Elevator in Caro, MI for 8 years, Evans Products in Gagetown, MI for 19 years, retiring in 1983, and he enjoyed fishing and camping.

Leonard is survived by his loving wife of over 61 years, Colleen, children, George (Lois) Hawley of Minden City, MI, James (Kim) Hawley of AZ, Diane Smith of Baldwin, MI, Sandra (Wil) Craig of Cass City and Ronald (Pam) Hawley of Cass City, 14 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 10 brothers and sisters. He was predeceased by a son, Mark and 2 brothers and 4 sisters.

Visiting is Thursday, November 2, 2006 from 3 until 9 PM at Thabet Funeral Home, 6255 Main St., Cass City with a funeral service at 11 AM on Friday, November 3, 2006 with Pastor Judy Esckilsen officiating. Burial will be in Ellington Township Cemetery, Ellington Township, MI.
