Mr. Lex Evans Tetreau, age 78, of Cass City, MI, passed away on Thursday, September 13, 2007 at his home.
Lex was born July 19, 1929 in Flint, MI the son of the late Robley and Lois (Pierce) Tetreau. On August 13, 1949 he married Ardis Reinke, of Harbor Beach, MI. She passed away March 26, 2006. Lex graduated from Business School in Bay City and worked as a carpenter with his father, designing and building many homes in the thumb area. He moved with his family to Tucson, AZ, where he also built several houses. They came to Cass City in 1961 where he worked as a carpenter with the Flint and Saginaw Local Union. He built the four homes on Maple Circle and one on Church St. with his son, Gary. In 1979 he accepted a position as Job Superintendent with HBE
Corporation. He supervised construction of hospital additions and credit unions in Michigan and Ohio. Gary worked with him on several of the projects. He enjoyed gardening, playing the saxophone, restoring antique cars and spending time with his wife, Ardie.
Lex is survived by a daughter, Lexie Lynn (Fredrick) Saar, grandchildren Jason and Carrie Tetreau and Daniel Saar, a brother, Curtis (Simone) Tetreau, and special friend and neighbor, Joyce Januchowski. Lex was predeceased by his wife Ardie and son, Gary.
Visiting will be Tuesday, September 18, 2007 from 11 AM until a 2 PM service at Thabet Funeral Home, 6255 Main St., Cass City. Reverend John Heim will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Cass City United Methodist Church.
