Mrs. Linda Lou Dillon, age 64, of Cass City, passed away,
Fri., Oct. 30, 2015 at her home, after a brave battle with
pancreatic cancer.
Linda was born Oct. 20, 1951 in Harlan, KY the daughter of
the late James and Perry (Pittman) Massingale. She married
Bernard John Dillon in Cass City on Dec. 4, 1971. She was
a hard worker, who put others needs before her own. She became
a Certified Nurses Assistant. She worked at Courtney Manor, Bad
Axe and became union steward with SEIU, and while working there
was elected and served for 7 years on the executive board of SEIU Healthcare Michigan. She left Courtney Manor, and was offered a
full time position with the union. She was very active with the union, working diligently to make sure the rights of workers were met, and traveled with the union and only left the union when she became ill, but still worked by phone as much as possible. She enjoyed football, both the Lions and U of M, boxing, fishing and hunting and most of all time with family, especially her grandchildren, who brought so much joy to her.
Linda is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, John, daughters, Tanya (Robert) McNeil of Ubly and Elizabeth Dillon of Cass City, grandchildren, Nicholas, Tasha and Mikayla, and sisters, Nora (Gordon) Frederick and Becky (the late Rick) Kingery, both of Cass City. She was predeceased by a brother, James Massingale.
Honoring Linda's wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Sat., Nov. 7, 2015 at 11 AM at Our Lady Consolata Parish, St. Pancratius Church, 4292 Seeger St., Cass City, with Rev. Fr. Christian Tabares as celebrant.family and friends may start gathering at 10 AM. Memorials may be given to Linda's family.
