Loretta Shantz

Mrs. Loretta Shantz, age 90, of Gagetown, passed away, Wed., April. 9, 2025, at Timberline Lodge, Caro with family at her side. 

She was born March 28, 1935, in Bay City, daughter of the late Raymond and Floretta (Joles) Sharp. She married Walter Shantz, April 13, 1965. He passed away Nov. 23, 2012. Loretta was a homemaker. She enjoyed her chickens, geese, ducks, cats and dogs, drinking her tea while watching birds at the feeder and eating ice cream while watching game shows. Most of all she loved time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Loretta is survived by her children, Wayne (Mary) Shantz of Cass City and Jerry (Angie Brady) Shantz of Gagetown, grandchildren, Jestin (Amy) Shantz, Christin (Justin) Sample, Luke (Sherie) Shantz, Nicholas (Hayley) Shantz, Nathan (Emma) Shantz and Jacob Shantz, great grandchildren, Justin, Caitlyn, Max, Abby, Anberlin, Madilynn, Loyola, McKenna and Joanna.

Visitation is Mon., April 14, 2025 from 10 AM until 11 AM, time of service at Thabet Funeral Home, 6255 Main St., Cass City. Dale Bullock officiating. Burial will be in Grant Township, Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank all the staff at Timberline Lodge and Covenant Visiting Nurses, especially Neema, for their loving care for Loretta.
