Marilyn Joyce (Day) McDonald

Mrs. Marilyn Joyce (Day) McDonald passed away on Friday, May 28, 2022 in Yuma, Arizona with her beloved daughter by her side. Formerly of Cass City, she walked this earth for 89 years.

Marilyn was born at home in Cass City on November 22, 1932 to the late Harold and Marion (Warner) Day. She graduated in 1951 from Owendale-Gagetown High School and married Allen McDonald on June 29, 1951, Allen proceeded her in death on November 11, 2010.

Marilyn and Al settled in Cass City and built a home in which to raise their family. Marilyn was a wonderfully talented seamstress, making wedding attire, clothes for her girls, drapes, quilts and did alterations for many customers. She continued sewing until the age of 89. She also loved her cats, gardening and reading. Marilyn and Al traveled the country and were snowbirds in Yuma, Arizona after retirement in 1986.

Marilyn is survived by her daughters, Jo Ellen McDonald of Yuma, Arizona and Susan (D. Mark) Collins of Saginaw, a sister, Patricia Brock of Yuma, four grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one great, great, grandchild.

Cremation has taken place and a committal service with interment will be at Grant Township Cemetery on July 16, 2022 at 11 AM. Reverend Robert Ethier will officiate.
