Mary Ann Bauss

Mrs. Mary Ann Bauss, age 88, of Marlette, passed away on Mon., Feb. 2, 2026 peacefully surrounded by her family.

She was born June 14, 1937, in Detroit, to the late Robert and Viola (Monte) Feys. Mary married Gordon Bauss, Sr., on Feb. 4, 1955 in Detroit. He passed away May 31, 1994. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt. She was a great cook, the first to make tacos in their neighborhood and cooked and worked at church for funeral luncheons. Was a caregiver to many people. Helpful in the community, volunteering for many things, including being a Eucharistic Minister and was a second mom to the kids in the neighborhood.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Michelle (Charles) Myers, Carol (Ronald) Jones and Barbara (Kevin) Lacey, daughter in law, Elizabeth Bauss and many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, great, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her sons, Gordon Bauss, Jr., Mark Bauss, Eric Bauss and his wife, Anne and Michael Bauss, and sisters, Beth, Ellen and JoAnn. A Memorial Mass will ne held at Holy Family Parish, St. Elizabeth Church, 6817 Marlette Rd., Marlette, Thurs., Feb. 12, 2026 at 11 AM. Fr. Amal Madanu as celebrant. Family and friends may start gathering at 10 AM.
