She graduated from Rogers City High School and then moved to Detroit where she worked as a “Rosie the Riveter”, helping in the production of the B-24 Liberator Bombers flown in WWII. On July 21, 1945 she married Tom Laurie in Rogers City. They made their home on their Cedar Run Rd. farm, south of Gagetown. For over 35 years they wintered in their Valleydale Estates home in Zephyrhills, FL. After Tom’s death in 2006, Millie moved to the Fl home to live full time. In later years she lived with her daughter, Jane in Brooksville and her final years were spent living at The Grande in Brooksville. Millie was a busy farm wife, who was an avid flower gardener in her spare time. When she became a grandma, she and grandpa Tom provided many years of fond memories for their grandsons on the farm. Together, she and Tom loved to entertain family and friends at their home, and their favorite activity was a good game of pinochle or euchre.
