Naida Carolyn Doerr, age 76, of Caseville, formerly of Cass City, passed away September 3, 2005 after an extended illness.
She will be missed by many family and friends. A native Michigander, she was born March 14, 1929 in Traverse City, the daughter of the late Frank and Mildred (Boone) Spoor. Naida graduated from Traverse City High School. On February 17, 1947 she married her beloved husband, Edward H. Doerr. She worked for Bell Telephone, Walbro, and raised 4 children.
Naida was a talented artist and her work will continue to be enjoyed all over Michigan and the U.S. In 1974, her works traveled the state as part of The Michigan Arts Council Art Train, which showcased Michigan artists at stops around the state. Her showings included the Saginaw Museum of Art, local art shows and she illustrated "The Birds of Florida's Big Bend" published by the Florida Department of Education. She was a member of the VFW, Eagles and a former member of First Presbyterian Church, Cass City. Naida was a loving wife, dedicated mother, a special grandma, a fun sister and aunt, and a good friend to many, she will be missed by all.
Naida is survived by her husband, Edward, children, Randy Scott (Sheila), Deborah Jean (Cas) Pasieczny, Patricia Michelle (William) Coleman and Edward James, grandchildren, Cas Pasieczny, Marni (Jonathan Carnahan) Doerr, Derek Doerr, Nikky (Bo) Manausa, sisters Winona (Al) Farrington, Kay (Glen) Cohoon, Sharon (Jim) Frantz, step-sister, Judy (Jim) Pryor, sister-in-law, Sylvia Spoor and many nieces and nephews, predeceased by her step-father, Bruce Thompson, step-brother, Greg Thompson and a brother, Duane Spoor.
A Memorial Luncheon will be held, 1 - 3 PM, September 17 at the Eagles, 7071 E. Park, Caseville. Memorials to Heartland Hospice or the Eagles.
