Mr. Nelson "Moose" Carl Willy, age 81, a life time resident of Cass City, passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2006 at Covenant Health Care, Saginaw.
Moose was born May 24, 1924 in Columbia Township, MI, son of the late Conrad and Esther (Kuhne) Willy. He was Waste Water Superintendent for Cass City for many years, was a former chief of the Elkland Twp. Fire Dept., and was an avid gardener, known around town for his Gladiolas, a hunter, bowler and softball player. As a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church since 1969, he held office as president of the board and chairman of Elders and Trustees.
Moose is survived by nieces and nephews, Sandra (the late Tom) Tierney, Doris (Dennis) Long, Emery (Clara) Orto, Mary Ann (Ed) Samson and Edward Rocheleau, God Children, Mac Connolly and Krista Groholske. In his last days he was cared for by Barb Doerr, Janie Kus, Kathy Kruse, Lori Ondrajka and Joey Kreeger. He was predeceased by his sisters, Dorothy Orto Bier and Elsie Rocheleau.
Visiting is Thursday, May 18, from 10 until an 11 AM service, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 6820 Main Street, Cass City, with Pastor Gerald Meyer officiating. Burial is in Elkland Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
