Paulette A. Kivel Obituary

Mrs. Paulette A. Kivel, age 70, of Munising and Cass City, passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2024 at My Michigan Health, Midland, after losing her year-long battle with Ovarian Cancer. 


Paulette was born June 25, 1954 in Detroit, the daughter of the late Paul and Dorothy (Schultz) Becker. She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Munising and Our Lady Consolota Parish-St. Pancratius Church in Cass City. She graduated from Cass City High School in 1972 and Kirtland Community College in 2000. Paulette was a past member of the Rose City Lioness Club, a Volunteer for the Munising Moose Lodge, an Alger County DHS Board Member and Riverhouse Board Member. She was employed with the Oscoda County Department of Health and Human Services, retiring in 2010 after 32 years of service.


Paulette is survived by her husband of 49 years, Gary, children, Stacy (Todd Duby) Kivel of Grand Blanc, Janine (Ken) Licht of Gaylord, Cory (Kimi) Kivel of Hagerstown, Maryland, Aaron Kivel of Lewiston, 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, brother, Paul (Yvonne) Becker of Cooks, brother-in-laws, Kevin (matt Mitchell)  Kivel of Cass City, Brad (Patricia) Bruce of Clarkston, sister-in-law, Sherry Burns of Cass City. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Joann Baranic and in-laws, Patricia and Jack Bruce and William Kivel.


Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place, and no services are planned at this time.
