Phyllis (Wanner) Mark-Wheeler

Phyllis (Wanner) Mark-Wheeler, age 86, of Cass City,
passed away, Sunday, November 8, 2015 at United Hospice
Marlette Residence Center. She was born July 13, 1929 in
Port Huron, to Erwin and Florence (Parker) Wanner. Phyllis
married James Mark June 18, 1949 at her parents' home in
Bay City. Jim passed away in September 1981. Phyllis married Frank "Spike" Wheeler in 1986. Frank died in 1996.

Phyllis attended Cass City Schools and graduated in 1947. She graduated from Bay City Business School and was employed as a secretary in Bay City. After her children were in elementary school, Phyllis was employed by General Cable where she worked
for nearly 25 years.

She enjoyed knitting, cooking, vegetable gardening with Jim,
and served as a Boy Scout den mother and as a communion steward
at Evangelical United Brethren Church in Cass City. Phyllis and Spike enjoyed spending summers at their mobile home in Caseville County Park for several years. She more recently enjoyed collecting cobalt glassware, listening to country music and audio books, feeding hummingbirds, and planting and caring for her hanging baskets of flowers.

Phyllis is survived by her children, Kathy (Phil) Nichols of Decker, Joe (Libby) Mark of Florida, grandchildren, Eve (Rob) Turzillo, Elise Nichols, Justin (Heather) Mark, Carrie (Andy) Skinner, James (Miriam) Mark, Sarah and Zack Mark, great-grandchildren, Marisa, Henry, Clara, Grace, Gus, Kevin. Step-children, Michael Wheeler, Randy (Mary) Wheeler, Brad Wheeler,
and several step-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Bonnie (Mark)
Dill, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Greg Mark, her parents, Erwin and Florence Wanner, and her sister, Mary Lou Sprague.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 12, 2015 from 11 until
11:30 AM at Cass City United Methodist Church, 5100 Cemetery
Rd, Cass City with the funeral service at 11:30 AM. Pastor Jackie Roe officiating. Burial will be in Elkland Township Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cass City United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice.
