Raymond Frank Grider

Mr. Raymond Frank Grider, age 61, of Cass City, passed away unexpectedly, Mon., March 14, 2022 at his home.

He was born Feb. 1, 1961, at Fort Leonard Wood, MO, to the late Leland and Martha (Phillips) Grider. Raymond worked for Michigan Sugar in Sebewaing as a forklift driver and performed other duties, he drove truck for Schneider Trucking and worked at Huggett Sod Farm. He enjoyed fishing with his best friend Ron, he enjoyed watching sports, especially the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions, had a great sense of humor, like to read and watch Jeopardy. He was very kind and good to the neighborhood kids. A special thanks to Orthotec Prosthetics, Cass City for their help and support and to the doctors at  Aleda E. Lutz Veterans’ Hospital, especially Dr. Z from the VA.

Raymond is survived by his sister, Margaret Grider, and his best friend, Ron Simpson, both of Cass City. He was predeceased by a brother, Marshall Grider and a sister, Gladys Ann Grider.  

Honoring Raymond’s wishes, cremation has taken place and burial was in Elkland Township Cemetery. Margaret is planning a memorial gathering and luncheon for Oct. 15, 2022 at Sherwood on the Hill, 6625 3rd St., Gagetown, from 1 PM until 2:30 PM. A short service and blessing will take place at 1 PM. Dale Bullock officiating. Family and friends may start gathering at 12:30 PM.
