Mrs. Rebecca Ann Krol, age 61, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at United Hospice of Marlette.
Rebecca was born on August 26, 1964 in Detroit Michigan, to Delena (Mills) Sears and the late Earnest McLaren. She graduated from Cass City High School in 1982 and built a full life as a mom to her children while working hard in the service industry to help support her family. Wherever she went, Rebecca was known for her ability to connect with people from all walks of life in her community. She prided herself on learning the names and stories of those around her, using her sparkling smile to bring joy to others. In 2009 Rebecca married John Krol Jr, and they shared 20 years together. Rebecca returned to college and graduate school as her children grew older, eventually earning her Master’s in Social Work and beginning her practice as a therapist with the McDowell Healing Arts Center in Saginaw Michigan. Rebecca was a talented seamstress and had an artistic soul. She loved her family, horseback riding, donkeys, gardening, cooking, baking, strong coffee, laughter, and Jesus.
Rebecca is survived by her husband John, her children, Raymond Garety III, of Bay City, Dr. Cassie Garety-James (Brent) of Ann Arbor, Jacob Garety (Alyssa) of Bay City, and Atlas Maxwell of Saginaw, Steven Harper of Warren, Jennifer Krol of Menominee, John Kroll III of Montana, and her two grandchildren, Clara James and W. Alfred James. She is also survived by her mother, Delena Sears and her siblings, Phillip McLaren of Cass City and Julia Hessler (Charlie), of Fairgrove, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will take place at Caro Assembly of God, 1543 Van Geisen Rd., Caro, Michigan on Saturday, March 21, 2026. Family and friends may begin gathering at 10am with service at 11am followed by a luncheon.
