Mr. Richard R. Kaake, age 68, of Decker, passed away, Saturday,
July 29, 2017 at United Hospice Residence, Marlette.
Richard was born August 6, 1948 in Cass City, son of the late Willard
and Ruth (Philpot) Kaake. He married Gloria Cramer Harbin in Marlette
on November 26, 1971. Richard served in the U. S Marine Corps during
the Vietnam War. he was a member of the Marlette VFW Post 4837. Richard worked as an independent truck driver, mostly in the automotive field and then owned R.E.D. Scrap in Wisner and then Kaake Scrap in Cass City. He enjoyed playing poker and time with family and friends.
Richard is survived by his wife of nearly 46 years, Gloria, children, Jeff
Harbin of OH, Vicki Harbin of Marlette and Tim Harbin of Lapeer, 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, 5 brothers, Bill (Ethel) Kaake of
TX, Bruce (Lavolah) Kaake of Deckerville, Eugene (Rita) Kaake of Gagetown, Dale (Rhonda) Kaake and Chuck (Beth) Kaake, both of Cass City, 2 sisters, Lois (Joe) Remsing of AZ and Donna Biebel of FL. He was predeceased by a brother, Leonard Kaake, and a baby sister, Irene.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held Friday,
August 4, 2017 at the Marlette VFW Post 4837, 2942 Main St., Marlette,
MI. Reverend Mike Hollenbeck officiating. Honor service by members of Marlette VFW Post 4837 and the United States Marine Corps.
Inurnment will be at a later date in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly.
