Richard Payne Obituary

Mr. Richard Stanley Payne, age 81, of Cass City, passed away, Mon., Aug. 22, 2022, at United Hospice Residence of Marlette. 

He was born March 12, 1941, in Springfield, IL, son of the late Owen and Ella Louise (Scott) Payne. Richard married the former Connie E. Hurd, in May of 2002. He worked for 23 years at General Motors, first at Fisher Body and then retired from Buick City. He enjoyed bowling, softball, golf and did deejaying, card games, Yahtzee, was a big Elvis fan and his trips to Florida. Most of all he enjoyed time with his family.

Richard is survived by his wife of 20 years, Connie, children, Michael Payne of Flint, Michelle (Mike) Djack of Hale and Mark (Kimberly) Payne of Davison, step children, the late Gary (Lisa) Bradley, Juanita (Floyd) Myers of Sanford, Dawn (Steve Dodds) Bradley of FL Bradford (Mary) Bradley and Andrew (Amanda) Bradley, both of Cass City, grandchildren, Jeremy, Mandy, David, Mark, Avery, Sandy, Kristen, William and Jermiah, great grandchildren, Nolan and Emily, a brother, Dennis (Linda) Payne of FL, many loving nieces and nephews and his dog Sammy. He was predeceased by the mother of his children, to whom he was married for 33 years, Karen (Hodges) Payne, step-son, Gary Bradley, a great granddaughter, Anastasia and a brother, Walter Payne.  

Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorials may be given to United Hospice Residence of Marlette.
