Mr. Richard D. (Dick) Sugden, age 85, of Cass City, passed away Friday, August 19, 2005 at his home.
He was born May 16, 1920 in Cass City, the son of the late Milton and Etta (Bright) Sugden. On August 25, 1951 he married Lois M. Sefton.
He worked in the area as a mechanic doing wheel alignment and frame straightening, owned D & L Garage, and worked for Marlette Homes. He was a charter member of Old Engines and Tractor Club, Thumb Area Antique Auto Club and enjoyed mechanical work, antique tractors, engines and trains.
Dick is survived by his wife, Lois, children, Donna Seeley, Rick (Joyce)Sugden, both of Cass City, Lori Sugden of Saginaw and Julie (fiancé Mark Roberts) Sugden of Midland, grandchildren, Rachel Sugden, Jenny (Mike) Dohning and Tom Sugden, siblings, Jay (the late Lois) Sugden of St. Helen and Winifred (Ralph) Ball of Lakeland, FL. He was pre- deceased by a brother, Dean.
Funeral service Monday, August 22, at St. Pancratius Catholic Church, 4292 S. Seeger, Cass City, with Scott Mills officiating. Visiting is Sun., Aug. 21, from 2 - 5 and 7 - 9 PM at Thabet Funeral Home, 6255 Main St., Cass City. Burial is in Elkland Township Cemetery, Elkland Township. Memorials may be made to United Hospice.
