Ronald Joseph Schmidt

Mr. Ronald Joseph Schmidt, age 82, of Sandpoint/Pigeon, passed away, Monday, May 17, 2021 at his home. 

He was born September 23, 1938, in Detroit, the son of the late Roman and Eleanor (Zielinski) Schmidt. Ronald married Lillian Lesko, September 17, 1960 in Detroit. He served in the U. S. Army Reserve and worked as an Engineer for Ford Motor Company, for 30 years, retiring in 2000. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, but he especially loved time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.

Ronald is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Lillian, children, Jeff (Clare) Schmidt of Clinton Township, Jerry Schmidt of Alpena and Jeanne (Tim) Blanford of Pinckney, 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by an infant daughter, Jennifer Ann.

Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial mass will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, St. Roch Church, 6253 Main St., Caseville on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at 11 AM. Fr. Robert Pare as celebrant. Family and friends may gather beginning at 10 AM.
