Ruth Marie Peasley Obituary
Mrs. Ruth Marie Peasley, age 96, of Deford, passed away on Sun., Aug. 27, 2023 at her residence.
Marie was born Nov. 16, 1926, in Cass City, to the late Lyle and Beulah (Harrington) Zapfe. She married Charles “Bud” Peasley, June 9, 1944 in Manton. He passed away March 21, 2005. Marie, oh she could be shy and tricky, full of quick wit and a great sense of humor, and always the best at playing a game of cards or Scrabble. She loved to create beautiful things from growing flower gardens, to painting and crafts, to telling you a good story of days gone by. She loved to dance with her husband, Bud, throughout their marriage. Marie was a member of Novesta Church of Christ and greatly missed the fellowship and studying of God’s word with her Sunday School Class the past few years. Jesus Christ was the Lord of her life. One of the greatest memories her grandchildren treasure is gathering around the breakfast table, when they would spend the night, for morning devotions with Grandma and Grandpa. A close second would be sneaking into the candy jar without grandma hearing.
Marie is survived by her children, Charles A. (Ruth Ann) Peasley of Cass City, Arlene (Ivan) Paladi and Ray (Donella) Peasley, both of Deford, 11 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a great grandchild, Charles Peasley and 2 brothers and 1 sister.
Private burial has taken place in Novesta Township Cemetery.
