Mr. Stanley E. Morell, age 96, of Cass City, passed away, Sun., Nov. 23, 2014 at Tendercare - Cass City.
Stanley was born Oct. 30, 1918 in Sanilac County, the son of the late Charles and Mary Maude (Haney) Morell. He married Ruth Steadman Jan. 11, 1938 in Lexington. She passed away Feb. 21, 2005. He owned hardware stores in Cass City, Gagetown and Akron. He was a member of the former Tyler Masonic Lodge, Cass City. He was also a manager for Fuelgas, enjoyed farming, deer hunting, fishing, gardening, and raising, training and selling Beagles.
Stanley is survived by his children, Joyce (Jim) Neal of TN, Betty (Jack) Laurie of Gagetown and Marilyn (Jim) Dennis of Caro, 11 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 10 great, great grandchildren and several step great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Shirley (Gerald) Houghton and 10 brothers and sisters.
Visiting will be Sat., Nov. 29, 2014 from 9 AM until an 11 AM service at Gagetown United Methodist Church, 4750 South St., Gagetown. Pastor Bill Cleland officiating. Burial will be in Elkland Township Cemetery in the spring.
