Steven P. Downing

    Mr. Steven P. Downing, age 55, of Cass City, passed away, Tues., July 12, 2022 at McLaren Lapeer Region, Lapeer.

He was born July 26, 1966, in Bay City, son of Richard and Cora (Hutton) Downing. Steven married Dawn Belka on Aug. 20, 2021. He was a bus driver for Thumbody Express and served in the U. S. Army.

Steven is survived by his wife, Dawn, children, Sara Downing of TX and Kaylin (Josh) Tackett of OH, step-children, Codey (Samantha) Anker of Bay City, Keaton Belka and Kendal Belka, both of Cass City, a granddaughter, Alivia Tackett, his parents, Richard and Cora Downing of Caro, siblings, Robert (Sue) Downing and Ross (Linda) Downing, both of Caro, Shelli Colosky of Vassar, Kelly (Heath) Jackson of Bay City, Marjorie (Jerry) McPhillips of TX, Diana Robertson of Marlette and Cheryl (Pat) Dillon of Cass City and many loving nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Sherri (Brent) Harrington of Caro.

Honoring Steven’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be on Sat., July 30, 2022 at 11 AM at the Cass City VFW Post 3644, 4533 Veterans Dr., Cass City. Pastor Marc Herron of 1st Baptist Church of Caro will officiate. Family and friends may start gathering at 10 AM.
