Stuart Nicol Obituary
Mr. Stuart Edward Nicol, age 88, of Cass City
(Greenleaf Twp.), passed away, Thurs., Sept.
4, 2014 at his home.
Stuart was born Dec. 31, 1925 in Greenleaf Twp.,
the son of Thomas and Gladys (Wright) Nicol.
He married Vera Dobson in Ubly on Nov. 27, 1948.
He was a member of Cass City United Methodist
Church, Operating Engineers Local 324, the
Thumb 2 Cylinder Club, and Historical Construction
Equipment Association. Stuart worked for several
Excavating Companies before starting Nicol and
Sons, Inc. He liked tinkering with old tractors,
wood working, especially making toys for his grandkids.
Stuart is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Vera,
2 sons, John (Gayle) Nicol and Jerry (Karen) Nicol,
both of Cass City, grandchildren, Jason, Joel,
Jessica, Elise, Ethan, Nicholas and Kyle, great
grandchildren, Graham, Blaine, Justin and Jenna,
a brother, Thomas (Jan) Nicol. He was predeceased
by a baby daughter, Francis Arlene, a son, Michael
Nicol, and a brother, Duane (Irene) Nicol.
Visitating is Sat., Sept. 6, 2014 at Cass
City United Methodist Church, 5100 N. Cemetery, Cass
City, from 10 AM until a 1 PM service. Pastor Jackie
Roe officiating. Burial will be in Elkland Twp. Cemetery,
Cass City.
Memorials may be made to the Cass City United
Methodist Church or Home and Hospice Advantage.
