Tonya Newsome Obituary
Mrs. Tonya M. Newsome, age 66, of Cass City passed away Monday, June 14, 2010 at her home with her family at her side.
Tonya was born on June 10, 1944 in Saginaw, the daughter of James and Genevieve (Vincent) Walker. On April 23, 1960 she married Lloyd J. Newsome in Kingston. Tonya was a home maker who enjoyed gardening, antiques, bird watching and crafts. She enjoyed time with her family, especially with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Tonya is survived by her husband of 50 years, Lloyd, her children, Lloyd Newsome II of Columbiaville, Bunny (Dennis) Porter of Cass City, James newsome of VA and Toni (John) Plain of Cass City, grandchildren, Melinda Newsome, Lloyd Newsome III, Dennis Porter II and Genevieve Turner, great grandchildren, Alyssa Webster and Cora Porter, a sister, Jeanette (Michael) Geno of Port Huron and a brother, Michael Walker of Deckerville. She was predeceased by her son, William Newsome, November 13, 1993 and a brother Donald (Linda) Walker.
Visiting will be Wednesday, June 16, 2010 from 3 until 9 PM at Thabet Funeral Home, 6255 Main St., Cass City and on Thursday, June 17, 2010 from Noon until a 1 PM service at Cass City Missionary Church, 4449 Koepfgen Rd., Cass City. Pastor Bob Sweeney officiating. Burial will be in Elkland Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Family Discretionary Fund.
